Choosing the right clarity and cut is essential to the brilliance of your diamond earrings. We always recommend choosing the best quality diamond for your budget, however for earrings it may be practical to opt for a lower clarity as they’re less likely to be viewed up close than a ring or necklace. Clarity between VS2-SI1 is ideal for a crisp and sparkling finish.
A diamond’s cut reflects how well it has been cut and polished. An Excellent cut diamond is the highest quality in terms of brilliance, whilst a Poor cut diamond will be much lower in price and lack the fine sparkle of a better cut. We recommend Ideal or Excellent cuts for use in earrings, where sparkle is one of the most important factors.
One big choice to make when buying diamond earrings is whether you’re choosing traditional mined diamonds or high-quality lab-made stones. Natural stones are responsibly sourced from mines around the world, and rich with geological history due to being formed beneath the Earth’s crust millions of years ago. Our diamonds are carefully selected to ensure they meet the highest standards of ethical and environmental responsibility.
Man-made diamonds are a fantastic choice if you’re after something friendlier to your budget and the environment. Lab grown or cultured diamonds are molecularly identical to mined diamonds, are just as hard, and are impossible to discern from a “true” diamond with the naked eye. All of Diamond Factory’s diamond jewellery is available to buy with synthetic lab grown diamonds.
Our most popular style of diamond earrings is a simple round stud - sophisticated, timeless, ideal for everyday wear and the perfect addition to any jewellery collection. Drop earrings that sparkle with each movement are more popular for formal occasions, adding an eye-catching dash of drama to any look.
The simplest way to care for diamond earrings is to remove them when bathing. Haircare products and soaps can cause a film to appear on diamonds that will dull their natural sparkle. We recommend using only a soft toothbrush and a small amount of warm water if your diamond earrings require cleaning, as ultrasonic cleaners can cause diamonds to loosen in their clasps. You can also use clear alcohol to swab metal earring posts between wears for optimum hygiene.
Store your diamond earrings in their original box or inside a closed jewellery box to maintain their shine.
